Texas Knee Injury Workers' Comp Settlement (2026)

Texas has no knee schedule. A permanent knee injury is paid through impairment income benefits (IIBs): 3 weeks for each whole-person impairment point, at 70% of your average weekly wage, capped at $920 a week for injuries from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.

How Texas pays a knee injury

  • The doctor's final rating at maximum medical improvement must be a whole-person rating; a lower-extremity percentage is converted first.
  • The IIB maximum is lower than the temporary income benefit maximum ($1314), and the minimum is $197.
  • For October 2025 – September 2026 injuries the IIB maximum is $890.
  • Workers with a rating of 15% or more may qualify for supplemental income benefits.

Texas knee settlement math: an example

  1. A 10% whole-person rating at $1,200 average weekly wage: 70% is $840 (under the $920 cap).
  2. 30 weeks × $840.00 = $25,200.00.

Arithmetic with chosen inputs, not a typical rating or an observed settlement. A settlement can also resolve wage benefits and future medical care.
