Accuracy limitations. Workers' compensation laws change frequently. State maximum and minimum benefit rates are typically updated each year on January 1 or July 1. While we make reasonable efforts to keep this site current, we make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or current applicability of any rate, formula, or scheduled-loss week shown.
State law variation. Each state's workers' compensation system has its own statutes, administrative rules, case law, and procedural requirements. Two workers with identical wages and identical injuries may receive very different benefits depending on the state in which the injury occurred. The calculations on this site use general formulas and may not reflect the precise rule that applies to your individual claim.
No carrier-specific computation. Insurance carriers often use proprietary methods to compute average weekly wage, apply state caps, and determine impairment ratings. This calculator cannot account for carrier-specific practices.
Consult a workers' comp attorney. If you are pursuing a workers' compensation claim, you should consult with a licensed workers' compensation attorney in your state. Most attorneys offer free consultations and represent injured workers on contingency, meaning attorney fees are paid only if the claim is successful.
Not affiliated. Workers Comp Estimator is not affiliated with any state workers' compensation board, government agency, insurance carrier, or law firm.
