Kansas Shoulder Injury Workers' Comp Settlement (2026)

Kansas pays a permanent shoulder injury as a scheduled loss of the arm including the shoulder: 225 weeks × your rating × two-thirds of your average weekly wage, capped at $905.00 a week for injuries from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.

How Kansas pays a shoulder injury

  • K.S.A. 44-510d lists the arm including shoulder structures at 225 weeks and the arm excluding the shoulder at 210 weeks, so whether the rating includes the shoulder changes the award.
  • The weekly rate is 66⅔% of average gross weekly wage with the same maximum as temporary total ($869.00 for July 2025 – June 2026, $835.00 for July 2024 – June 2025).
  • If the injury is rated to the whole body instead, Kansas uses its 415-week functional-impairment method with credits and a $100,000 cap for functional-only awards.

Kansas shoulder settlement math: an example

  2. 22.5 weeks × $905.00 = $20,362.50.
  3. At $1,200 wage the same rating is 22.5 weeks × $800 = $18,000.

Arithmetic with chosen inputs, not a typical rating or an observed settlement. A settlement can also resolve wage benefits and future medical care.
