How Florida pays a shoulder injury
- For injuries on or after October 1, 2003 (§440.15): rating points 1–10 each pay 2 weeks, 11–15 each pay 3 weeks, 16–20 each pay 4 weeks, and points above 20 each pay 6 weeks.
- The weekly impairment rate is 75% of the TTD rate (two-thirds of wages, up to $1,358 for 2026 injuries), halved for weeks you earn at least your pre-injury wage.
- An upper-extremity rating must be converted to whole body before this table applies.
Florida shoulder settlement math: an example
- A 10% whole-body rating with an $800 TTD rate ($1,200 wage): 20 weeks × $600 = $12,000.00.
- This is the impairment benefit only — not future medical or a washout settlement.
Arithmetic with chosen inputs, not a typical rating or an observed settlement. A settlement can also resolve wage benefits and future medical care.

Florida shoulder injury FAQ
Does Florida have a shoulder schedule for workers' comp?+
No. Florida pays impairment income benefits on the whole-body impairment rating, not a body-part schedule.
What is a 10% shoulder rating worth in Florida?+
If the 10% is a whole-body rating, 20 weeks at 75% of your TTD rate; at an $800 TTD rate that is $12,000.00.
Is a Florida shoulder settlement the same as impairment benefits?+
No. A washout settlement can release future income and medical benefits, so it should be compared with everything it closes, not only impairment benefits.
